While much of the “Christian” community is enthralled with the public aspect of ministry, we must understand what true ministry is. I don’t think God is impressed by Hollywood style “ministers” who preach pretty sermons but never risk getting any dirt under their manicured fingernails. I know it sounds harsh, but maybe that’s just what this world needs. Gods church is in need of some hard core inner inspection. It is time we looked at what we are doing and judge ourselves by the standard of Christ.

Matthew Chapter 25

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

It seems by the scripture above that God is more interested in ministers to God and not ministers of God.

“Ministry happens when needs are met.”

Something Patrick Harvey (praise & worship leader) says nearly every service. Ministry is what we will be doing. Meeting the needs of those in our community is every Christian’s call and Acts29 is the banner we will unite beneath. The 28 books of acts are the history of the modern church. The 29th chapter is being written now, it’s what we live today. We must realize that we may be the only example of Christianity that some will ever see.

Join us as we minister to Him.

  • What is the purpose of evangelism? (0) September 14, 2011 James Bryant

Please do not be confused. Evangelism is not a method or a program.  Often, When the word is mentioned, people get mental pictures of putting up a tent, going door to door, waving a Bible on a street corner and so on. Some of these methods are valid ways to reach those who need to hear, but at the heart of the matter is the idea of building relationships between people and God.

It is God’s greatest desire to spend the rest of eternity with you and me. That is what people need to know!!  I don’t want to get into in-depth word studies at this point, but we do need to know where the word came from in order to understand it’s importance to us today.  The word ‘Evangelism’ does not actually appear in the Scriptures.  The word ‘Evangelist’ does.  By definition, an evangelist is “a preacher of the Gospel.”  In the Bible, Jesus gives a command to His disciples that carries down to our generation.

“Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.”
    Mark 16:15…

Today there are many sources to evangelize, eg. internet, telephone, television, radio, tracts & flyers etc.  but the most important thing is that, we must get the word of God out!!!  At Family Worship Center, it is our goal to get the word out, we are dedicated to in every area and department of our church to accomplish this task.  Our common goal is to evangelize in every capacity.  Our “Outreach” team goes our into the highways and byways inviting people to come unto the Lord.  If you are interested in Bible study, prayer or just counseling please don’t hesitate to contact us or contact me personally for an indebt study of God’s word..
